Terms and Conditions of Service
Effective Date: August 10, 2026
These Terms and Conditions apply to electrical and related services provided by Clonard Electrical Limited (“Clonard Electrical”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By accepting a quote, approving work, paying a deposit, or otherwise authorizing Clonard Electrical to proceed with work, the customer agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
1. Quotes and Scope of Work
All quotes are based on the scope of work, drawings, specifications, site information, and other information available to Clonard Electrical at the time the quote is prepared.
Only work specifically identified in the accepted quote is included.
Unless otherwise stated, quotes assume normal working conditions, reasonable access to the work area, and that existing electrical systems and equipment are in suitable condition to permit the quoted work.
Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
2. Changes and Additional Work
Work requested or required outside the accepted scope will be considered additional work.
Additional work may include customer-requested changes, additions, unforeseen site conditions, deficiencies in existing electrical systems, changes required by authorities having jurisdiction, or work made necessary by conditions that could not reasonably have been identified when the original quote was prepared.
Where additional work or a change in price is required, Clonard Electrical will obtain customer authorization before proceeding where required and reasonably practicable.
Additional work will be invoiced separately or added to the existing job.
3. Existing Electrical Systems and Concealed Conditions
Unless specifically included in the scope of work, Clonard Electrical does not warrant or assume responsibility for existing wiring, equipment, electrical panels, circuits, devices, connections, grounding, bonding, or other portions of an existing electrical installation.
Quotes assume existing electrical systems affected by our work are in serviceable condition and suitable for reuse.
Conditions including damaged wiring, aluminum wiring requiring additional remediation, improper previous installations, overloaded circuits, undersized wiring, inaccessible junctions, concealed connections, code deficiencies, or other hidden conditions may require additional work at additional cost.
Clonard Electrical is not responsible for defects or deficiencies that could not reasonably have been identified before commencing work.
4. Electrical Safety Authority and Code Requirements
All electrical work performed by Clonard Electrical will be carried out in accordance with applicable electrical safety requirements.
Where an Electrical Safety Authority (“ESA”) notification, permit, inspection, or other approval is required, it is included only where specifically stated in the quote or scope of work.
Existing deficiencies identified during our work or by an inspector that are outside the contracted scope are not included in the original price and may require additional work.
5. Customer-Supplied Equipment and Materials
Where fixtures, equipment, devices, appliances, controls, heaters, fans, lighting, or other products are supplied by the customer or another party, Clonard Electrical is responsible for the electrical installation only.
Clonard Electrical is not responsible for product defects, missing parts, incorrect specifications, incompatibility, manufacturer warranty issues, delays associated with replacement products, or the suitability of customer-supplied equipment.
Additional labour resulting from defective, incomplete, unsuitable, or incorrectly specified customer-supplied equipment may be charged separately.
6. Access and Site Readiness
The customer is responsible for providing Clonard Electrical with safe and reasonable access to the work area and ensuring that areas required for the electrical work are reasonably clear and accessible.
Delays caused by inaccessible work areas, other trades, incomplete construction, unavailable equipment, or other site conditions outside our control may result in additional charges or rescheduling.
7. Drywall, Finishes and Restoration
Electrical work may require drilling, cutting, fishing of wires, access holes, or removal of existing finishes.
Clonard Electrical will take reasonable care when performing this work.
Unless specifically included in the quote, drywall repair, plastering, painting, tile repair, cabinetry repair, concrete repair, landscaping, trench restoration, finish carpentry, and other non-electrical restoration work are by others.
8. Troubleshooting and Service Work
Troubleshooting is performed using reasonable diagnostic procedures based on the symptoms and conditions present at the time of service.
Because electrical faults may be intermittent, concealed, or caused by multiple conditions, Clonard Electrical cannot guarantee that a specific amount of diagnostic time will identify every fault.
Additional troubleshooting or repairs beyond the originally authorized scope may result in additional charges.
9. Scheduling and Delays
Clonard Electrical will make reasonable efforts to meet agreed scheduling dates.
Scheduling may be affected by material availability, weather, inspections, utility requirements, site readiness, changes in scope, emergencies, delays by other trades, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Clonard Electrical is not responsible for costs or losses resulting from reasonable delays caused by circumstances outside our control.
10. Payment
Payment terms are as stated on the applicable quote or invoice.
Deposits and progress payments may be required depending on the size and nature of the project.
Invoices are due in accordance with the payment terms shown on the invoice.
The customer is responsible for approved additional work performed outside the original scope.
Clonard Electrical reserves the right to suspend work on overdue accounts or where required payments have not been made.
11. Cancellations and Special-Order Materials
Customers are asked to provide reasonable notice when cancelling or rescheduling work.
The customer may be responsible for costs already incurred by Clonard Electrical, including specially ordered or non-returnable materials and reasonable labour or mobilization costs incurred before cancellation.
12. Warranty
Clonard Electrical stands behind the quality of its workmanship.
Any concern believed to relate to our workmanship should be reported to Clonard Electrical within a reasonable period after discovery so that we have an opportunity to inspect the work.
Manufacturer warranties apply to materials and equipment where applicable.
Clonard Electrical is not responsible for failures resulting from product defects, normal wear, misuse, modifications or work performed by others, customer-supplied equipment, pre-existing electrical conditions, power quality issues, water or physical damage, or circumstances outside our control.
13. Damage to Existing Property
Clonard Electrical will exercise reasonable care while performing work.
We are not responsible for damage resulting from pre-existing conditions, deteriorated materials, concealed conditions, improperly installed existing equipment, or circumstances that could not reasonably have been anticipated.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Clonard Electrical will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses resulting from the performance or delay of contracted work.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
15. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada.
16. Acceptance
Acceptance of a quote electronically or in writing, payment of a requested deposit, or authorization for Clonard Electrical to commence work constitutes acceptance of the applicable quote, scope of work, pricing, and these Terms and Conditions.
